Jan Samarth Portal for Credit-Linked Government Schemes Completes Four Years

The Jan Samarth Portal, a unified digital platform connecting beneficiaries to lenders for credit-linked government schemes, has successfully completed four years of operations.

Streamlining Government Credit

The Jan Samarth Portal, a pioneering digital initiative by the Government of India, has completed its fourth year since its launch. The portal serves as a one-stop digital aggregator, integrating over 13 Central Government credit-linked schemes across multiple ministries onto a single platform. It directly connects beneficiaries—ranging from students and farmers to MSME entrepreneurs—with over 125 lending institutions and banks.

Impact and Digitization

Over the last four years, the portal has drastically reduced the turnaround time for loan approvals. By offering real-time integration with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), GST portals, and credit bureaus (like CIBIL), it allows lenders to digitally verify an applicant's credentials instantly. This has largely eliminated the need for physical branch visits, ensuring transparency and reducing bureaucratic friction in credit disbursement.
