Central Government Extends Tenures of Ravi-Beas and Krishna Water Disputes Tribunals

The Central Government has extended the terms of the Ravi & Beas Waters Tribunal and the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal by one year to resolve inter-state water sharing issues.

The Ravi and Beas Waters Tribunal has been extended until August 5, 2027, and the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II (KWDT-II) has been extended until July 31, 2027. These extensions were granted to allow both judicial bodies to finalize water allocations and settle complex legal arguments regarding inter-state water sharing.
