Marking three and a half decades of spearheading India's IT revolution, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) celebrated its 35th Foundation Day. During the event, the 'STPI Tech Summit 2026' was held in New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, tech entrepreneurs, and investors. STPI has been pivotal in boosting India's software exports from a mere ₹17 crore in 1991 to over ₹8 Lakh crore today.
Focus on Emerging Tech Hubs
At the summit, STPI announced the establishment of ten new Centers of Excellence (CoEs) focused exclusively on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. These CoEs will provide incubation infrastructure, mentorship, and funding for startups specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and Quantum Computing, aiming to democratize the tech ecosystem beyond traditional metro cities.
