The eCommittee of the Supreme Court, alongside the Department of Justice, launched a two-day conference to address the future of India's judicial infrastructure. With the judiciary currently navigating Phase III of the e-Courts Mission Mode Project, the event served as a forum to refine the shift toward paperless operations and virtual hearings.

Chief Justice Surya Kant noted that technology remains the primary tool for making the justice system more inclusive and responsive. The sessions tackled complex integration issues, including the use of Artificial Intelligence in legal research, the need for standardized case-filing systems across states, and robust judicial data security. The overarching goal is to modernize legacy frameworks—'Re-engineering the Present'—to ensure digital tools remain accessible to litigants and counsel in rural regions.
