Syllabus Outline for JKSSB Junior Assistant & Junior Stenographer Recruitment
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the official syllabus and exam pattern notice for the recruitment of Junior Assistant and Junior Stenographer/Junior Scale Stenographer posts. These positions were advertised under Notification No. 08 of 2025 dated 27.09.2025. 1. Written Exam Pattern
The written examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. The duration of the exam is 80 minutes. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Section A: General English (20 Marks)

- Venn Diagrams and Direction Sense.

- Introduction to Computer Architecture and Input/Output devices.
- Operating System basics (MS Windows) and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Internet and Emails: Concept, security, and safety measures.
- Computer viruses, anti-virus, and cyber security fundamentals.
3. Skill Test Requirements
In addition to the written examination, candidates must qualify the skill tests as per the following criteria:
- Junior Assistant: Type test with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute (wpm) with an accuracy of 90% or above on computer keyboard. Only qualified candidates are eligible for the written test.
- Junior Stenographer: Shorthand test with a minimum speed of 65 words per minute (wpm) and transcription speed of 35 words per minute.
