UPSC NDA & NA (II) and CDSE (II) 2026: Application Deadline Extended
In a major relief for thousands of defence aspirants, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially extended the online application deadline for the National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Exam (II) 2026 and the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) (II) 2026.

2. Vacancy Details
The total number of vacancies across the armed forces is as follows:
NDA & NA (II) 2026: 400 Vacancies
- Army: 208 (Including 10 for female candidates)
- Navy: 42 (Including 12 for female candidates)
- Air Force: 120 (Including 6 for female candidates)
- Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry): 30 (Including 9 for female candidates)
CDSE (II) 2026: 349 Vacancies
- Indian Military Academy (IMA): 100
- Indian Naval Academy (INA): 32
- Air Force Academy (AFA): 32
- Officers' Training Academy (OTA Men): 169
- Officers' Training Academy (OTA Women): 16
3. Eligibility Criteria
- NDA Age Limit: Unmarried candidates born not earlier than Jan 2, 2008, and not later than Jan 1, 2011.
- CDSE Age Limit: Varies by academy (Generally 20-24 years). Must be born between July 2, 2003, and July 1, 2007.
- Educational Qualification:
- NDA Army / CDSE OTA & IMA: Any Bachelor's Degree / 12th Pass.
- NDA Navy & Air Force / CDSE INA & AFA: Physics and Maths mandatory in 12th / Engineering Degree.
4. Application Fee
- General / OBC Candidates: Rs. 100/- for NDA and Rs. 200/- for CDSE.
- SC / ST / Female Candidates: Fully Exempted from fee payment.
5. Selection Process & Syllabus
The selection process involves a rigorous Written Examination followed by the SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview consisting of Intelligence and Personality Tests (5 days).
6. How to Apply Online
- Go to the official UPSC portal: upsconline.nic.in.
- Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) if you haven't already.
- Log in and select the respective examination (NDA or CDSE).
- Fill in Part-I (Basic details) and Part-II (Center selection, Photo/Sign upload, Fee payment).
- Verify your details during the upcoming correction window (July 1-7).
