Selection Procedure
The recruitment of SSC Officers in the Indian Navy follows a rigorous two-stage selection process, without any written entrance examination:
- Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their academic performance in the qualifying degree (BE/B.Tech/MBA/MCA/M.Sc). For candidates in their final year, marks obtained up to the fifth semester in BE/B.Tech are considered. Shortlisted candidates are informed about their selection via email and SMS.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates undergo a five-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview process at designated centres (Bangalore, Bhopal, Visakhapatnam, or Kolkata). The SSB comprises Stage I (Intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion Test) and Stage II (Psychological tests, Group Task, and Personal Interview).
- Medical Examination & Merit List: Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a thorough medical examination. A final merit list is prepared based on SSB marks, subject to medical fitness and vacancy availability.
