The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has officially published the final selection list for the highly prestigious YUVIKA (YUva VIgyani KAryakram / Young Scientist Programme) 2026. A total of 350 meritorious students from across the country have been shortlisted to participate in this fully-funded, intensive residential space training program.
1. About the YUVIKA Program
YUVIKA is an annual initiative by ISRO aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science, and Space Applications to younger students (specifically those who have finished Class 8 and are in Class 9). The program aims to "Catch them young" and encourage STEM careers.

4. Selection Criteria Breakdown
The 350 students were selected based on a rigid, transparent weightage system:
- Marks obtained in Class 8 Examination: 50%
- Performance in the ISRO online quiz: 10%
- Participation in Science Fair (School/District/State level): 2/5/10%
- Rank in Science Olympiads: 2/4/5%
- Winners of Sports competitions: 2/4/5%
- Scout/Guides/NCC/NSS Membership: 5%
- Studying in Village/Rural School: 15% (Special emphasis to bridge the urban-rural divide).
5. What Next for Selected Candidates?
- Log into the ISRO Antariksh Jigyasa portal (jigyasa.iirs.gov.in) immediately.
- Confirm your willingness to attend the program before June 15, 2026.
- Download the Medical Fitness Form and Indemnity Bond. These must be filled, signed by parents and a registered medical practitioner, and uploaded to the portal.
- Failure to confirm by the deadline will result in immediate cancellation, and the seat will be offered to the waitlist.
